- Keep out of reach of pets and children.
- Do not move a lit candle.
- Ensure candle is on a heat resistant surface.
- Trim wick to 5mm before relighting.
- Do not allow candle to burn to the base of vessel.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
- Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire hazard or injury.
Things you may notice with your candle
Sweating – This appears as moisture droplets on the top of your candle and does not affect the candle in any way.
Frosting – Frosting takes place when the natural wax used to make a candle tries to return to its natural state. This also, does not affect the candle in any way.
Adhesion – the candle may appear to have dark spots or wet spots, this is a very common occurrence and is more visible in clear glassware. It happens when the wax is cooling and minor shrinkage occurs, causing the wax to pull away in some areas of the vessel. Even some of the most expensive candle manufacturers have the same results. This also, does not affect the candle in any way.
“Mushrooming Wick” – the wick appears to have a mushroom top after or while burning. This is the result of excess carbon build-up. To provide the cleanest burn possible, we recommend you remove the black ‘mushroom’ before burning and periodically during the burn. This will ensure a long-lasting candle, minimise soot and black residue. Failure to remove the excess carbon/debris may cause a wax pool fire. To avoid the “mushroom” effect trim your wick to 5mm before relighting.
In the event of a “wax pool fire” (the surface of the candle seems to be alight), it is recommended to use a fire blanket or extinguisher to extinguish the fire.
Wax, Wicks and Fragrances:
- Our wax is sourced from an Australian company and is a CocoSoy blend wax that many of the larger brand companies use for their candles.
- Our supplier sources high quality pre-tabbed wicks from Germany which are zinc and lead free as well as acid resistant. Constructed of a cotton flat braid, with paper fibres throughout.
- Majority of our fragrance oils are designed and developed in Australia by our supplier and are completely vegan/cruelty – free. Many of our fragrance oils include a high percentage of essential oils, however to ensure best performance used in our products are also synthetic in substance. Of course, to ensure the best scented fragrances we have a few different suppliers and the information above may vary.
